The single greatest use for brushed, metallized films today is for facestock on pressure sensitive labels. To achieve a sleek and durable appearance, they are affixed to household appliances, such as dishwashers, garbage disposals, refrigerators and trash compactors. Brushed silver labels, sometimes referred to as brushed “chrome” or brushed “aluminum,” now are used in factories around the world. Printed with the equipment’s vital statistics, they take the place of metal ID plates on forklift trucks, compressors, slitters, rewinders and other pieces of heavy machinery. These labels primarily are chosen to give the equipment a look that says quality, strength and endurance, and because they are generally affixed to metal, they simply “feel” right for the job.
