| What changes can I expect since Interfilm has now purchased Brushfoil? | Dealing with Brushfoil will be essentially unchanged. The management team and all employees have been retained by Interfilm. The products and services will be of the same high quality you have come to expect from Brushfoil. | |||
| What types of films do you brush? | Polyester, acetate, polypropylene, vinyl, and polycarbonate, to name a few. We are always willing to try any film and look forward to the challenges our customers give us. |
|||
| Do you supply the film to be brushed or do I? | Either. We prefer to buy the film, so that we are responsible for the job from start to finish. However, it is not uncommon for our customers to provide their own film. |
|||
| What is the maximum width I can get in brushed films? | We are able to brush up to 68" wide. One exception is our ULTRA Series. |
|||
| What is an average lead time on orders? | This varies largely on film availability. Some film manufacturers only have product runs once each quarter or every other month. In such cases, we will let you know at the beginning of the job. If you supply the film, we usually can ship your order in two to three weeks – sometimes sooner – after we receive your film. | |||
| Will I see any flaws such as dirt or "hairs" in your brushed films? | Quality is our first priority. We supply films that get laminated to surfaces as wide as 65", so if any visual defect occurred, it would stand out. Eliminating hairs or dirt in the process has been and will continue to be our primary focus. | |||
| What unit measure do you use for billing? | The most common methods are by the pound, msi, square foot, square meter, linear yard, or linear meter. Because we understand that some customers have computer limitations, we will try to use whatever measure you use for all of your films. | |||
| Do you make brushed films in other colors? | Visit our Gallery to see packaging created with our brushed copper film. We also offer brushed finishes in pewter, penny copper, platinum, blue, red, green, and gold. Looking for something else? We would be more than happy to color match a brushed film for any application. | |||
| What thickness of film can you brush? | Standard processing allows us to brush from 48 gauge (12 microns) up to 10 mil (250 microns). If your project requires a greater thickness, please contact us. |
|||
| Do you retain inventory of any of your films? | Generally we make everything to order. However, we do carry inventory on some popular films. | |||
| Are your brushed films suitable for appliances or furniture applications? | Yes, we have developed what we refer to as a "hard coat" finish, designed to withstand the rigors of these applications, such as abrasion, fingerprints and solvents. Please contact us directly for samples. | |||
| Does Brushfoil offer a variety of brushed finishes? | Yes, while our most common and most popular is a deeper brush giving the finish a more matte look, we can brush the film very lightly giving it a more subtle brushed finish. | |||
