BRUSHFOIL MAKES TOOLBOX COOL Brings a “Finished Look” to Package Designers’ 2006 Gift ![]() GUILFORD, Conn. – Brushfoil LLC, a leading global manufacturer of brushed films and papers that enhance the appearance of consumer products throughout the world, has provided a new ‘look’ to a favorite of package designers worldwide. Each year, thousands of in-house, independent and private label package designers receive a “Toolbox” containing product samples from multiple suppliers and converters depicting new capabilities, materials, treatments and surfaces available to the packaging industry. The third edition of the annual toolbox, was shipped during Measuring 14"x14"x12", the carton takes on a surprisingly lifelike appearance, thanks to Brushfoilís silver 92-gauge brushed film applied to the carton. Jim Parker, a Brushfoil partner, “the film used for the job was our standard product that we recommend for most lamination work where a high-quality finish is required.” “It’s a real show stopper,” explained Chris Lyons, group publisher of Package Design magazine, based in Malvern, Pa. “Each year, we ship the Toolbox to our subscribers, who can use the contents to enhance their packaging design concepts for their own companies and clients. Our hats off to Brushfoil for giving us a superior look this year!” Brushfoil’s Jim Parker added “We were honored to be asked by Chris to participate in creating this yearís toolbox. We think it was the perfect opportunity to show how our brushed chrome finish can turn a plain box into a product with a premium look.” While Brushfoil provided the brushed film, Hazen Paper Company of Holyoke, Mass., processed the SBS board, adhesive lamination to the Brushfoil film, applied an acrylic lacquer and sheeting to size. Hazen Paper is a world-class paper converter specializing in film and foil laminations, gravure printing, specialty coating, and rotary embossing. Hazen products enjoy wide acceptance for use in luxury packaging, bookbinding, lottery and other security tickets, tags and labels as well as for photo and fine art mounting. The Toolbox took shape thanks to the single-face, e-flute expertise of ARES Printing & Packaging of Brooklyn, N.Y., where printing, final lamination, die-cutting and gluing took place. The manufacturing process took only two weeks.
